Demi Gods Universe · Help with the app, and how to reach a person
Need a person? Email us and say what happened and what your handle is. We answer every message, usually within a day.
Getting in
I cannot sign in
Accounts use an email address and a password. Check the address first — the most common cause is signing in with a different one from the one the account was made with.
If you have forgotten your password, email us from the address on the account and we will send you a reset link by hand. Self-serve password reset is being added to the app; until it is there, we do it for you, usually the same day.
I never got the confirmation email
Confirmation emails can take a few minutes and sometimes land in spam. If it has been longer than that, email us from the address you signed up with and we will confirm the account by hand.
Posting
The camera will not open
The app asks for the camera and the microphone the first time you film. If you said no, the camera cannot be opened again from inside the app — iOS and Android both hold that decision at the system level. Turn it back on in your phone's Settings, under the Demi Gods Universe entry, then try again.
My video will not upload
Clips are compressed on your phone before they are sent, which takes a moment on a long video. If it fails, the app tells you which step failed rather than just saying no. Common causes are a dropped connection partway through, or a very long clip — try again on Wi-Fi, and if it keeps failing, send us the message the app showed you.
The main feed will not take my photo
That one is deliberate. The home feed is video only, so that it stays a cosplay showcase rather than a photo stream. Photographs are welcome inside communities, which accept both.
The monthly competition
There is a cosplay competition every month, with a prize of up to £1,000, decided by votes. Entries must be filmed with the camera inside the app, run up to two minutes, use no AI in the footage or the costume, and be a build you made and are wearing.
The full rules, including eligibility, dates and how the winner is chosen and contacted, are on the Cosplay Competition screen in the app, which you reach from the Universe tab. The competition is run and sponsored solely by Demi Gods Universe. Apple is not a sponsor and is not involved in it in any way.
Safety and moderation
Reporting something
Every post, reply, profile and conversation can be reported from inside the app — open the ··· menu on it and choose Report. We review reports within 24 hours. If something needs attention faster than that, email us and say so.
Blocking somebody
Open their profile and choose Block. They will not be able to message you or interact with your posts. You can see and undo your blocks in Settings.
Child safety
The app is for people aged 18 and over, and we have no tolerance for content that exploits or endangers children. Our child safety standards explain how to report it and how we act on it.
Your account and your data
You can edit or clear your profile at any time in the app, and delete any post or reply you made. To close the account entirely and remove everything attached to it, see deleting your account — you can do it from inside the app, or by email if you no longer have it installed.
