When Amino faded, it did not take one community with it. It took thousands — anime communities, Marvel and DC communities, K-pop communities, roleplay threads that had been running for years. People scattered to Discord servers nobody could find, to Instagram where the algorithm decides who sees you, to group chats that went quiet.
Demi Gods Universe is where they are regrouping.
What Demi Gods Universe is
DGU is a community app for fandom. Not a general social network that tolerates fandom, and not a chat tool you have to be invited into. It is built for people who love something enough to make things about it.
You join in about a minute: an email, a name nobody else on the network can take, a picture, and a side. No invite link. No server to be let into. No waiting for a moderator to notice you exist.
Who it is for
- Marvel and DC fans, and comic readers generally
- Anime and manga fans
- K-pop and K-drama fans
- Cosplayers and cosplay creators
- Roleplay and storytelling communities
- Original character creators, artists and writers
- Gaming, film and entertainment fandoms of every kind
If you loved a community on Amino, there is a version of it here — and the people in it are findable, which was always the hard part.
Build a community, not a server nobody can find
In DGU a community is called an alliance. You and the people you ally with form one, and it comes with:
- Its own name and picture, which any member can change
- A private hall — a group chat only members can read
- A door. Anyone can ask to join, but nobody gets in until a member says yes
- A place on the map. Alliances appear in the Universe, so people can find yours and ask to join
That last point is the difference between this and a Discord server. A server is invisible unless somebody hands you a link. An alliance is discoverable by anyone browsing, which is how communities actually grow.
Chat, message, and find people
- Private messages between any two Demi Gods, readable only by the two of you
- Alliance halls for your group
- Replies on every post
- Search people by name or handle
- Leaderboards showing who stands where, so you discover people through what they made rather than through an algorithm's mood
Your profile is a character, not a résumé
This is the part people miss most about Amino, and the part general social apps cannot give you.
Your profile carries a super name nobody else on the whole network can hold, an origin story, an alignment — the Sworn, the Neutral or the Fallen — and a set of powers balanced by real weaknesses.
You get 100 points to build what you can do. The strong abilities cost a lot, and every weakness you accept gives points back. Nobody can afford to be untouchable, and anyone who opens your profile sees both halves.
You do not have to do any of this to join. Come as a fan. Follow creators, post what you love, join an alliance. The character is there when you want it.
Standing you earn, not standing you buy
Everyone starts at Power 10 and rises through Spark, Awakened, Champion, Titan and Ascendant.
The rule underneath it is short:
- Power cannot be purchased. There is no price for a rank
- Followers do not generate it. A large audience is not an achievement
- Repetition earns nothing. Posting the same thing a thousand times is worth what it sounds like
Every point comes from something you did, and your profile shows which achievement gave it to you. Most apps rank people by attention. This one ranks them by what they made.
For creators
If you make things — cosplay, art, edits, writing, original characters — the problem has never been talent. It has been reaching people who care.
DGU gives you:
- A full-screen feed, one post at a time, so your work gets the whole phone rather than a thumbnail between adverts
- An audience that is there for this, not a general audience you have to convert
- A record that accumulates. Your standing grows with everything you make, rather than resetting with every algorithm change
- Alliances, for collaborating with other creators under one banner
What is coming
The app is live and shipping constantly. Here is what is being built — stated as what it is, so you know what exists today and what is on its way.
Voice and video in your alliance
Alliance halls are text today. Voice and video are coming, so your community can drop into a room together the way you used to — watch a première, run a roleplay session live, or just leave a channel open while everybody builds.
Earn from what you make
The marketplace is being built so creators can sell their own work inside DGU — cosplay commissions, prints, figures, custom character art, original designs. The section already exists in the app for Champions and above; payments are the part still to come.
The principle stays the same as everything else here: money buys goods, never rank. You can sell what you make. You cannot buy a Power class, and nobody can buy their way past you.
AI that helps you create, not AI that creates for you
We are building AI into the parts of this that are genuinely hard, not as a label:
- Help writing an origin when you know who your character is but not how to say it
- Balance suggestions — you have picked a devastating power, what weakness would make it honest
- Finding your people by matching what you make to what others make, rather than by follower count
- Translation, so a K-pop community in Seoul and one in São Paulo can be the same community
The point is to help you build the thing, never to generate it for you. A universe written by machines is not worth being inside.
Challenges
Organised contests with real stakes — cosplay builds, art prompts, character duels — where winning moves your standing because it was earned.
